They've been after this guy for so long it's hard to believe they finally caught him, but he sure seems the real deal. The prosecutor hasn't ruled out the death penalty despite the cooperation.
To: Indy Pendance
Yikes!! This is scary. And what's more scary is that these people are freely walking amoungst us.

And this sicko is still breathing for what reason?
To: Veggie Todd
Yep and they look totally normal.

Because he cut a deal with prosecutors. If he owns up to it the cases they can clear all of them and it saved them the expense and risk of a jury trial. This way, they got their man, they got those cases cleared and he never gets out of jail.
I suppose they saw something positive in it...

Great...so now our tax $$$ get to feed, house and provide medical care & cable tv for this scumball for the rest of his life.

And what's more scary is that these people are freely walking amoungst us. An author by the name of Dr. Robert Hare wrote an excellent book for layman on the subject of psychopaths. This guy is probably the best expert on the subject you will find. When he wrote the book back in 1993, he estimated that there were 2 million psychopaths in North America alone. Fortunately, being a psychopath doesn't necessarily mean you are also a serial killer. On the other hand, most if not all, serial killers are psychopaths. The truth of the matter is that serial killers are rare.

I read somewhere that the prosecutors were worried about some of the cases. I didn't remember too many of the details but they were uncertain in some areas and this was a better way for them to clear it up.

"The prosecutor hasn't ruled out the death penalty despite the cooperation."Won't matter.
Like California, Washington has a death penalty it refuses to carry out unless it's absolutely forced to. I think about 3 have been executed since the DP was reinstated. The remainder on death row die of old age.
To: FeliciaCat
Hmmm. I understand how you feel. It could be though that with over 40 cases it works out cheaper to house him for life than to take all those to court.

Ridgway murdered 48 women and will be allowed to live. Terri Schiavo, who has harmed no one, whose only "crime" is being hurt herself, will most likely be executed.
The men who are bent on murdering Terri -- Michael Schiavo, George Felos, Judge Greer -- these men are more false, more treacherous, more cruel than the sociopathic Ridgway.

This guy needs killing.

Its much cheaper for the state to just match him up with a freelance executioner in prison, like they did to Dahmer.

Yikes!! This is scary. And what's more scary is that these people are freely walking amoungst us.And it's much more scary when you consider the fact that Gary Ridgway isn't even a Muzzel-em !!!

I can understand why they agreed to a plea deal, but it still pisses me off. This guy kills scores of people and gets away with it. Sure, he'll be locked up for the rest of his life but at least he is alive which is more than you can say for his victims. This piece of excrement should be strangled the way his victims were.
