The wealthiest states give the least.

I live in MA as well. We are taxed to our eyebrows, so there's not alot left to be generous with. Personally, I donate most frequently to conservative causes, the Boy Scouts, and my church.

I'm stunned. I live in Mass and all of the New England States are at the bottom,in fact the whole Northeast did poorly. The wealthiest states give the least. I've seen other analysis of this data. The New England states appear to be pretty cheap, but that's not really the case.
When you consider the cost of living (high) and taxes (high) in New England, we have less money "left over" than some of the poorer states. When you look at the "money left over" / "charitable giving" ratio, the New England states are actually about average. When you look at the dollars given, the New England states are about average.
