My aunt got a wheel chair and I believe she told me that Medicare paid for it but she did need a doctor's signature stating she needed it.
Also a close friend of mine contacted a local organization, I'm thinking it was the Lion's Club, anyway they loaned him a wheelchair, delivered it to his home and told him to keep it as long as he wanted it. That was two years ago and he's still using it.

There are people willing to get Terri a new wheelchair, but Schiavo FORBIDS this too.

Medicare will pay for a chair if you are at home but not if you reside in a nursing home. (at least that was the way it used to be)
