19:51 PODGORICA , Nov 4 (Tanjug) - Official of the Bosniak National Council (BNV) in Montenegro Esad Dzudzevic said Tuesday that Bosniaks are under pressure to declare their native tongue as Montenegrin in the forthcoming population census.
Bosniaks are under pressure, and some have received open threats from some public and secret services and political parties to declare their ethnicity and mother tongue as Montenegrin, against their will, Dzudzevic said in an open letter to Montenegrin Premier Milo Djukanovic and the OSCE.
The spoken language used to be called "Serbo-Croatian", with Serbian and Croatian being different writing systems. These all would be called regional accents except for the screwy politics of the region.
