CBSs Bob Schieffer channels Tom Daschle. Last Tuesday, following President Bushs press conference, Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle complained about Bushs claim of progress in Iraq: "If this is progress, I don't know how much more progress we can take." Sunday, on Face the Nation, Schieffer echoed Daschle, If this is winning, you have to ask the question: How much of this 'winning can we stand? Schieffers full question to Republican Senator Richard Lugar: The President said this week that we are winning and that this violence just shows that the other side is getting desperate. But if this is winning, you have to ask the question: How much of this 'winning can we stand? I mean, is it, isn't something, isn't the strategy, going to have to change? Aren't we going to have to bring in more troops just to protect our own people there? I mean, how can we continue down this road doing exactly what we seem to be doing now?

The war against Hitler's Germany took at least ten years to win. He needs to re-read his history and view the torture tapes until he can see and understand what's going on.

Agreed. More soldiers died in the first hour of DDay than have died in this whole conflict.

This is the first in-your-face war. We'd better get used to it as opposed to thinking we're going to change the wartime scenario any time soon. Talk about head-in-the-sand syndrome.

I never listen to it. I read about it here and that's it. My daughter will make a comment about Dim whoosywhatsit and I just remind her that she must avoid these silly distractions. Focus on a Bush win. Stay the course.

Such utter wimps. Guess he prefers sitting in his home and hoping that only 3000-10000 are killed on the east coast not the west coast.
Proves that a liberal will never - ever - defend America if it means they have to do anything other than turn to the U.N. so that world dictators can tell them what to do about those that want to take over America.
