Clinton won't get foreign aid funding

Clinton was due to land in Oslo Tuesday morning, his arrival delayed from initial reports of Monday night. His first stop was Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik's office.

The two planned to discuss the new campaign by the Clinton Foundation to fight HIV/AIDS. The foundation is working in several countries to help local health authorities treat HIV/AIDS patients, and also has helped drive down the cost of AIDS medicine in developing countries.

Hilde Frafjord Johnson, Norway's foreign aid minister, will also meet with Clinton but claims he's not coming merely to solicit donations to his own foundation.

Rather, Frafjord Johnson believes Clinton wants to drum up support for new treatments for AIDS patients. "I think we'll strike a good agreement on cooperating," Olav Kjoerven, Frafjord Johnson's state secretary, told news service NTB.

Bondevik also has invited Clinton to lunch at Bjoernsgard, a unique collection of old timber houses in a valley on the outskirts of Oslo.

I suspect clinton's main reason for traveling around meeting with all these Socialist Eurocrats is to organize more trouble for Bush. Maybe he's telling them to get on board Hillary's campaign for the presidency if they know what's good for them, supposing she should run, wink, wink, wink, and then they'll have a lovely fellow socialist to deal with instead of Cowboy Bush.

I think you may under estimate him. If he was to do that a lot of Europeans would see right through him and recognize him for the classless 'hillbilly' that he is.

My guess is that what you state is the true purpose, but that it goes unsaid. He is maintaining contacts in a more subtle manner and will deliver the bill and the goods at a later date.

CLINTON TO BE SUBPOENAED

W.J. Clinton will be subpoenaed in the $5 billion law sit against the FDA, Arkansas, and Louisiana that has been filed by Canadian victims of the killer blood scandal. Says plaintiff's lawyer David Harvey: "We intend to seek a deposition from the president. At that point, we will consider naming him as a defendant."
