Whereas the most influential (to the media) Catholics in the US will bend over backwards to accomodate those who wish to destroy the traditions of the Church.

The influential liberal Jews were silent during the Crown Heights riots. A few rememberd their voices only after those on the right made trouble against the Dinkins Administration.
