Do you know if this is really going on?
Called to Get Tickets to See Fox - Was Told They Were Only for MEXICAN Community
From: Fed Up

I cannot believe it.
I just called the Mexican Consulate to get tickets to see the Fox in Phx. at the Civic Plaza, Nov. 4th. 602-242-7398.
I said I was inquiring about the tickets, and asked what the price was.
He said "Hold on, I'll check."
He came back and said "They're free, but they're only for the Mexican community."

Do you know if this is really going on? I haven't heard anything about tickets being limited to Mexicans. There actually have been very few details about this, at least in the English-language press. Here is the most complete description of this event that I have seen.

Thanks. I especially noted this part of the article:
But some are critical of the planned agenda.
State Republican Rep. Russell Pearce doesn't think immigration should be discussed during the meetings.
Pearce, who supports eliminating some services for illegal immigrants, said Fox's attempts to gain support for any type of immigration deal are wrong and he should instead help tighten the U.S.-Mexico border.
Pearce said he thinks Napolitano is exploiting the visit and doesn't believe the governor has the authority to negotiate with a foreign country on immigration.
"I believe in being a good neighbor, but this is the president coming to pander to our governor to violate our laws," he said Monday.

"We need for the families of those who already are there to be able to get together their relatives ... and organize a flow of people who go each year for temporary work, or permanent work, without the need to become U.S. citizens."You see Vincente is saying "Why should I pay for economic development for my people when I could get them to make thier livelyhoods in the U.S. and bring the bacon home to Mexico"

You are hardly in a position to "demand" anything

Napolitano has already volunteered Arizona to be a pilot location for any new guest worker program that is contemplated. She raised a few eyebrows saying that.
Also, Pearce has been urging a public protest during Fox's visit of any guest worker plan. Napolitano's aide accused Pearce and another legislator of trying to screw up the whole visit. It seems to me that in Fox's appearance at the Civic Plaza that he is basically appearing as a Mexican politician, and so protests are entirely appropriate. It's just another example of the confusion now with our relations with Mexico.

Fox pays us $20,000 a head, per year Not enough. Each illegal alien is estimated to cost the American taxpayers $55,000 a head, per year. Why should we pay anything for them? We shouldn't. Fox should pay.

The problem is excessive use of government services compared to the tax revenue generated, a refusal to assimilate, the dramatic growth of crime and gang activity by their dropouts (~50%), the large number of illegal drivers who have no insurance and flee accidents, ad nauseum.Flee accidents? Try this true story, which happened in Southwest Michigan. Illegal immigrants without insurance or drivers license, are not able to negotiate around some crates that had fallen from a farm vehicle. (Three cars ahead of them did.) The illegals manage to accelerate, lose control of the car and hit a tree. Two flee, one dies, one has a serious head injury. The State of Michigan pays over $500,000 in medical bills for the head injured male. The family of the woman who was killed was awarded 800,000 in court.
I am well aware of the problems and they might represent over 90% or more of the illegal immigrants that are here. But I am aware of exceptions who don't fit the profile you outlined.

President Vicente Fox said Monday that Mexico wanted work visas, legalization and family reunification for undocumented migrants, but stopped short of calling for U.S. citizenship for them. Why, oh why does the United States even pay attention to this POS who represents a third world hellhole of a country otherwise known as Mexico? (Rhetorical question)

Hey vincente, go to hell.
To: raybbr
Excellent. When that so-called "freedom ride" was not stopped it told me that the United States as we have known it is finished. It was such an extreme slap in the face to ALL of us but especially to Black Americans, that I knew that my country was gone. You cannot have a nation without the rule of law.
To: vikingcelt
If the TRAITOR George W. Bush (who panders to illegals and murderous Muslims but seems to care nothing about the rightful citizens of this country) doesn't do something about this problem and soon, we won't have a country left and I'll have moved to Greenland or someplace equally remote.
Thanks for the peek into ideologue dementia. Maybe you would be more at home with the knuckle-draggers at DU.
