Maybe it's Catch-22, but the only way out is to publish, or perish. No publish = no peer review = no acceptance in the scientific community.
Without scientific acceptance, ID is no more likely to be taught in science classes than fairies, pixies and unicorns.

Again, they currently only want textbooks to be factual.
