Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

See post 10,680. I also brought this up a couple weeks ago. Time to put on my tinfoil hat.

I agree with you, which is why I only said it made for some "interesting" combinations. I was trying to play down the drama. It is highly coincidental however that "select six flags" is one of the combinations considering the Super Bowl, it's proximity to Reliant Stadium, EOM's "alleged" trip to Texas via Mexico, and the date of the Super Bowl.

It is time to end this thread. Isn't it clear that their threats didn't mean anything?

OK I need to read the context. I goofed and I was wrong. EOM is not refering to Said al Adil. EOM is refering to one of the 99 names of Allah, according to Islam. AL-'ADL means "The Just" or "The Equitable"

Im sorry - I should have read EOM's message before I responded.

The book was terrifying not so much because it was about terror, but because it was about fearlessness, the fearlessness of the fanatical. The utter willingness to die. This struck a chord because people began to realize this was something impossible to fight in any conventional way. How can you harm people who are ready to die? How can you stop people whose nihilism immunizes them against any possible threat?

Black Sunday is an amazingly entertaining film -- but watching it in 2003 isn't the same as watching it in 1977. With the passing of time, what was once dark fantasy is now harsh reality. Now we know what happens when a plan like this one succeeds. We know how that feels. We know how many thousands die and what the physical site would look like after the event, so much dust and twisted metal and pockmarked earth. We know very well the psychological devastation that comes of such things. Oddly, the horror of Black September's goal, to kill 80,000 people in a Miami football stadium -- a hook that could easily have been written off as simply a thriller's central plot device -- is intensified many-fold by the stark contrast of what happened on September 11. That day's actual body count pushes the tension associated with the potential of the film's much bigger one. The result is a strange, disturbing double echo, where a film is mirrored by a real-life event, and a real-life event which seems to have been foreseen in a prescient film.

this is toooo interesting to go to sleep yet.

It sure is an intriguing read on this frigid night. That Mexico to Houston connection is quite plausible. For some reason, that first paragraph of his latest post is coming across as authentic to me -- more so than his other posts.

To quote another FReeper on a post a few days ago.....
"I want to know what may happen, before it happens, even if it never happens."

This is how most of us feel.

We all pray that "It" never happens, but foreknowledge, even if flawed, can help with any defence.

Have you read any of the posts in this thread? Did you read the following post, and are you willing to jeopardize your families life by not watching what is going on and trying to research whether or not it could possibly be true? I believe our government is not yet ready to write any of these threats off and neither are we.

Terrorist threats to destroy US city posted on internet
UK Herald ^ | Jan. 15, 2004 | IAN BRUCE

Posted on 01/14/2004 10:30:45 PM PST by FairOpinion

US and British intelligence services are investigating a series of alleged al Qaeda internet warnings predicting a terror attack which would "destroy an entire American city".

The messages, posted on a number of Islamic websites over the last week, say the countdown to attack has already begun.

They claimed it would be "an even stronger strike than nuclear weapons".

They also warn that unless the US and its allies withdraw immediately from Iraq, Afghanistan, and all other Muslim countries, the terror network has ordered the elimination of American leaders and their supporters. The post of most concern to Western intelligence has appeared three times in three days on a radical Islamic internet forum called the Mujahideen Network.

It claimed to be "from the Islamic nation to the American people" and boasted that its forces now had the ability to wipe out an entire city.

A security source said last night: "There is no way of determining whether these warnings are genuine or wishful thinking on the part of extremists. "But there are disturbing parallels with the background threat-level chatter which preceded the September 11 attacks in 2001."

The investigation came as the UN said almost 100 countries should be "named and shamed" for failing to enforce international sanctions against known members of al Qaeda and its Taliban allies and to block the flow of money and arms to the groups.

I was just wondering???

Yellowcake and who paid them to drag their feet for a month?

Who is hurt the most by the admission of having found Yellowcake from Iraq?

I was surprised that we ever saw it published.

I missed that post. It is unsettling that it appeared in the British press just yesterday. It will be a bad sign if we jump back to orange on or about Feb. 1.

But it fit,lol...at least to me in my addled thinking it did. I'm battling the mother of all headcolds and between the virus itself and the 12 hour sudafed, you could have sold me on Mickey Mouse as EOM.

I have a feeling that Houston is still on orange alert. I posted something the other night about the shipping channels around Galveston. There are a lot of targets in that area.
