This smacks of selfishness to me. Famlies are left behind and new families begun here in the U.S. Then children are given to paid strangers to illegally join illegal parents, who from reading this article, feel it's OK to risk their child's life.

This is nothing less than child abuse. The parents are fully aware of the nature of the smugglers ---- they're a little too eager for the welfare checks to come rolling in --- it's much kinder to leave the children with relatives back home than put their lives in the hands of smugglers and all the other risks.
