[history]
Within the next two weeks, the Nevada Department of Transportation is set to remove the cross that had been erected in memory of 9-year-old murder victim Krystal Steadman, an official said.
But the department plans to hold statewide public hearings early next year to determine if such roadside memorials should be banned completely or restricted, said Scott Magruder, state transportation spokesman.

just approve a non-denominational marker. Can use a 12 inch circle with a 36 inch height as an idea.

Since this case arises out of Nevada, I am taking bets on the religion of the unnamed offended person. Any wagers?

"What the heck! let these people put up a cross for their own dead relatives atleast!"8' and 2 ton. They should take it down, 'cause it's a road hazzard and drop it on the whiner's foot.

Sometimes I wonder what this world is coming to. Any idea how long it will be before the ACLU jumps into this case?

(Why is it that the more "gun safety" laws are passed, the less safe my guns seem?)

What the heck! let these people put up a cross for their own dead relatives atleast! That's what cemetaries are for. If they can afford an 8 foot, 2 ton marker, they can afford to purchase a plot to put it on.

Not uncommon to see white crosses in Montana, even the occasional Star of David. A sobering reminder that people have died there in an accident, and cause to be just a little more careful.
As for those who can't handle being reminded of their mortality, grow up while you still have time.
