Firstly, there is a distinction between "Anglican" and "Church of England", just as there is a distinction between Protestant and Orthodox/Catholic. The Orthodox, Anglican Catholic Church (of which I am a memeber) is a far cry from the ECUSA and the "anything goes" branches of the Church of England. Anglican denotes more of a common heritage than a particular liturgical style or set of dogmatic beliefs.

Secondly, the history of the Anglican Church is a little more involced than most Protestants believe based on the poor history presented in the public schools. Henry's libido had far less to do with the formation of the Church of England than you have been led to believe. Will and Ariel Durant have written some excellent history of the period; you might also look to Project Cantebury ( http://justus.anglican.org/resources/pc/ ) for some documents from the period - if you care to learn the facts (complicated as they are).

Well, you probably know more about it than me, but "high" CoE (Anglican?)has always seemed like a group of CoE folks who like the ritual/ceremony of the RC church, but prefer to be without the Pope.

In any event, I'm glad that you're not like the ECUSA gang.
