Leonard: In all my years in advocacy I have noticed a lot of people are like lawyers they try to horde their information and promote their own stories over others ignoring others in order to do so. As you know (evident from your candidness, a man after my own heart) we need to promote everyone's story and enlist everyone possible to get attention on the horrors. To that end everyone of us involved in opposition to the governments war on children and families should; promote this opportunity to get CBS 60 minutes to do a cover piece on the plight of the American family and how Child Protective Services is a misnomer and threat to the Public welfare. There are many good sites on the NET for people to peruse to find articles, laws, and information in support of their positions. There are two I promote for their content, benefit to parents and children in the vice grip of the state, confessions of caseworkers, how to information, authoritative studies,.... CPSwatch - using the governments own statistics, studies and reports this group demonstrates what we all know; Children in the state's care are more subject to neglect, abuse, even premature death than children in the "general population". Child Protective services is a misnomer in this country, motivated more by federal incentive grants than the "best interests of any child": http://www.cpswatch.com/oldsite/stats/ and National Coalition of Child Protection Reform is comprised of some of the country's leading experts in family law, child psychology, foster care and related government policy, all calling for drastic reforms of the agency charged with Child protective services as it is more often than not traumatizing children and families needlessly causing more damage and injury than true help.

http://www.nccpr.org/about/index.html

There are many, many good sites to be sure including http://www.familyrightsassociation.com and the Gastons also of Oregon do a lot to try and promote public awareness, their story should be promoted. I should post mine for the drugging and “legal abuse” to my kids in the state of Vermont in retaliation for my speaking out against corruption in our state’s government. Hopefully Judicial Watch’s suit against former governor Dean will help promote the truth about his agenda and adverse impact on children and families in this state. There is another Threat to the Public health and welfare. As Governor of Vermont Dr. Howard Dean instituted forced drugging, Civil unions (with the help of the judiciary, can forward information upon request)which resulted in an attack on fathers, children, families, free speech, .... We don’t need or want him for president, a consummate politician it wouldn’t be hard to expose the hypocrite for what he is a dangerous demagogue obsessed with power void of scruples or ethics. Hopefully the many abuses he perpetrated upon children and families in this state will get exposed by Judicial Watch’s suit info posted at: http://www.judicialwatch.org/3518.shtml

I will forward the "notice" about 60 minute's expose and pray they have the integrity, and get the input and support of those of us harmed by that one rogue agency to find it "newsworthy". Maybe they will realize they are losing the informed (and increasingly more are getting to be) public to the NET by ignoring such newsworthy events. One reason I like the Judicial Despotism speech of John Ashcroft (testimony to the proverbial saying power corrupts) posted on the jail4judges web site at: http://www.jail4judges.org/JNJ_Library/stak0/despot.htm he exhorts, "Americans should not sit idly by as our individual rights are surrendered. We should enlist the American people in an effort to rein in an out-of-control Court, Our forefathers who warned of judicial power left like a 'boundless ocean' were right. A half-century of unbridled judicial activism has made that danger clear to all but the intentionally ignorant". We are having impact and our great benevolent leader in the war on “state sponsored terrorism” has enlisted our support so let’s crank up the volume!!!!

In Solidarity,

Dave Donley, Paralegal in Vermont many times tried many times exonerated with children being persecuted for their father's politics. I will post, in a few minutes, the links to the story about the Judicial Conference I referred to. I meant to post two separate things, and ended up incorporating them... Sorry...

Breaking the Cycle—Lessons Learned Through the Voice of a Child
Families in the 21st century face many challenges. As a result, professionals
working in juvenile justice and child welfare may confront the challenge of
providing services to meet the needs of diverse families with multiple needs.
This plenary will give participants the opportunity to consider new ways of
looking at how children experience the risks to which they may be exposed
and defining better outcomes by exploring these challenges through the eyes
of a child. Areas covered include an analysis of current interventions and
system goals, examination of the messages sent to children and families,
important environmental factors relevant to developing interventions with
children exposed to stress, and exploration of possible approaches that may
empower children and families without triggering further adverse effects.
Crossover issues such as domestic violence, substance abuse, and
delinquency will be highlighted.

Department, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges

SATURDAY, December 6, 2003
8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Symposium A: Basic Dependency Law for Attorneys
This symposium is provided for attorneys new to dependency practice or
experienced practitioners needing a refresher. This course is designed to
assist attorneys in meeting the eligibility requirements of appointed
dependency counsel under rule 1438. Attorneys who complete the class
will receive a certificate that 8 hours of training in dependency law and
related subjects has been completed. Please confirm all requirements for
appointment with your local court.

8:00 a.m.–12:15 p.m. Symposium B: Domestic Violence Training for Court-Appointed
Child Custody Evaluators and Mediators
This symposium is designed for court-appointed child custody
evaluators and mediators. Topics include the fundamentals of domestic
violence laws and procedures and the appropriate structuring of the child
custody evaluation and mediation process, including screening and
assessment, safety, maintaining objectivity, and framing the evaluation
report. To fulfill the 12-hour training requirement of California rules of
Court, rules 5.215 and 5.230, participants are required to attend this
symposium, any five workshops on December 4–5 that are marked with
the symbol , and the plenary lunch on Friday, December 5.

8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Symposium C: Courtroom Testimony for the Child Welfare Social Worker
The symposium is a 1-day training program developed by the National
Association of Counsel for Children (NACC), based in Denver, to
improve the in-court testifying capacity of child welfare social workers.
While caseworkers are typically well-trained in the substantive issues of
casework (mental health, child development, etc.), they are typically not
trained well in the court process and their role in it. This training is
uniquely created to fill that gap. Social workers will be trained, through
a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and interactive participation,
in the art of witness examination so that they will be equipped to
perform at the highest levels in court. The end result is improved and
more timely service to children and families. Faculty will include
experienced dependency attorneys from the NACC and California.

We REALLY need to be at this conference, all three days, standing outside, with signs demanding to know how these cretins sleep at night after all the horrible things the State of California and all other states, to a lesser degree, have done to harm kids. If you are unclear about why I am so adamant about this, please take a cruise through my list of links on my profile page in Free Republic. The Child Protection system in this country is KILLING kids, for MONEY every day, enabled by judges who absolutely refuse to protect the child from his most dangerous foe, the SYSTEM! The entire network makes a thinking person ill when they begin to realize how their money has been expended to destroy families in the name of "the best interest of the child". Please PLEASE, if you don't already know why this is such an important issue, or if you believe that Child Protection Services is a necessary evil, then please educate yourself and help us stop these judges and lawyers from destroying and sometimes KILLING kids??? thank you for taking a few min to think about this, and take a look at the evidence I have provided. If you are interested in offering some sort of help, or even if you are interested in writing a few letters to officials or media, please contact me. I will gladly arm you with more than enough proof of the claims I present here.

I used to think that horrible things only happened to kids like these Iraqi kids. THEN I discovered the truth. The things being done to kids in this country BY this government WITH your money and mine as the incentive, are almost on a par with the things you read about third world countries. It is beyond imagination. YOu really have to read the volumes of testimony of parents and grand parents and family, foster families, counsellors, to realize the impact the dishonesty of the judicial abuses in this country are having on our kids. There is literally a BOUNTY on our kids' heads!!! I don't mean to minimize the atrocity of this "Youth Camp" in Iraq. But we just rescued four little boys from a home in New Jersey where they had been forced to eat wall board and raw pancake batter for years. Yep, right here in River City. And ya know the part that makes me the most insane??? There was a social worker investigating these people for the NEXT adoption at the time, who had been in the house THIRTY EIGHT TIMES in the past two years, six months of which there was no electricity. And she was getting ready to give them permanent custody of their SEVENTH kid!!! AND she was being paid BY US to protect these kids, and insure their stable and secure future. Oh My GOD what sort of monster have we created in the name of best interest of the child? Can anyone spell UNintended Consequences?
