If we, theoretically, dropped a bomb on those people celebrating our soldiers' deaths, would it hurt our campaign to win the hearts and minds of our enemies?

Syria and Iran are feeding this because they know they are next. We need a few bombs in syria.

Theoretically, we should all feel guilty...........for about 10 seconds.....

Will they be showing vidoes these grand celebrations and festivities at Mr. Bush's grand Ramadam dineer, now? Will they, eh? I'm sure the state dining room would be filled with grand applause and cheers, joining the grand celebration!

We need a few bombs in syria.we don't so much need a few bombs in syria as we need syria to believe we need a few bombs in syria.

maybe not guilty, but deeply saddened.
The best day of my life will be when we develop cold fusion, or some other way of producing energy that gets us off oil. The middle east will revert back to the goat humping backwater nomadic past that the mentality in the region dictates.
If it wasn't for oil, they would have no money, no matter, and they could just be isolated in a box. Wait em out 20 years, til all their weapons rust, and then tell em to pound sand forever until they learn how to behave themselves.

I cannot believe all those peace loving people are doing this. Any Iraqi carrying a RPG or shoulder fired missle with the thought of harming any of our soldiers or aircraft should be shot on the spot.

Americans are the sworn enemy of Arabs, even the ones in America...Kinda like cats and rats...And we know what to do with rats...

We need to give them 24 hour notice and wipe that area off the map. You cant fight a war with rules against a group that fights this way. America needs to learn that they undermine us with all these rules and regulations that those who are not fighting lay down. Its like going to a gun fight with a knife. If we are not going to fight to win we shouldnt have gone over there.

Resistance to the occupation is applauded by some who see it as proof that Iraqis weren't totally humiliated by the relative ease of the U-S-led coalition's toppling of Saddam Hussein. Resistance? Anyone who says that is directly supporting Saddam and his thugs who were in the torture video the other day.

There are celebrations reported across the Arab world, after the news of more American casualties in Iraq. Probably in Paris and Berlin, as well.

If we are not going to fight to win we shouldnt have gone over there. Correct. We are still fighting a PC war there, just like the one stateside.

Who really gives a damn?
To: thoughtomator
You would think that these celebrations are being mapped for future hot zone targets? Damn, what are we waiting for... earlier I had read a post about reducing the Muslim Icons to dust... what better? Maybe then they would realize their "Mohammad" is no match for Uncle Sam. Let's do it and be done with it.

No guilt here... just anger that I am not seeing numerous dust clouds over the Middle East....

Tet,
I always knew you were an old softie.
I agree with the 10 seconds, but that would be including intermission.

If we are not going to fight to win we shouldnt have gone over there. The political mentality hasn't seemed to have changed over the years...We must have a "nice" war...One that will keep the popular politicians popular...
No doubt not unlike Viet Nam, the "so-called good guys" know and protect the bad guys...We must wait for them to come out into the open before we can blast 'em...

Personally, I don't think this "Nation Building" exercise in Iraq is going to work. Some people just can't be civilized.
That being said, it's important that we try our best there. Then we can point to it as an example that nothing else will work when we turn most of the arab world into a bubbling mass of molten glass.
Screw with the U.S. and your great grandchildren will speak of the day that the skies grew black with U.S. bombers like the mother of all swarms of locust. How the earth shook and the very air grew hotter than One Thousand Suns. Of how the buildings were bombed into rocks, the rocks into rubble, the rubble into sand, and the sand into dust. Of how the Americans swept across the desert firing endless rounds of ammunition at any soul unfortunate enough to have survived the bombing, and how just as quickly as they appeared, they then left.
