Carrie B. (daughter of Mountains Community Hospital Resident):DOCTORS - residents of the skilled nursing facility at Mountains Community Hospital who were evacuated early Sunday morning are NOT being properly cared for. I know of at least two patients that had NONE of their medications yesterday. TWO ADDITIONAL PATIENTS of MCH HAVE DIED since the evacuation and at least one of these deaths is rather suspicious, at least based on the information I have at this time. THE MEDICAL RECORDS seem to be missing for the patients and they need to be sent to the various rest homes where these people have been evacuated. As far as I can tell, nobody from Mountains has been to check on these patients. I am extremely disappointed in the way this is being handled, especially since we asked back in JULY what the evacuation plan was in case of fire. Please do the right thing and get those medical records delivered for these people. Obviously, it is a matter of LIFE and DEATH. Thank you.
Bev:For those that feel a need for further community with their friends and acquaintences in the fire areas, there is a chat site set up for you to share at length with each other. Any thing you want to talk about is OK. No one is on the list yet because I wanted to make sure first that Scot and others would realize that it is not intended to take the place of the bulletin boards, but rather to augment them. I think there will be a need for further communication with each other in the days to come of the best way to handle different challenges. If you are interested, the web site to join is:
