What I don't understand is why the "unanamous support" for Goldin changed, 2 weeks before his arrival.
Does anyone have any clue why they voted for Goldin, and then changed their minds and started to dissent his taking the position?

University officials said they reached a financial settlement with Goldin that terminated his contract, reportedly worth $750,000 per year, plus other perquisites. The settlement was widely reported as $1.8 million. We really need to spend more on "education".
I'd like to see a list of university Presidents who have been hired within the past five years and who have been fired, some virtually immediately, (with nice golden parachutes).
