I attended Bible College in the 70's, and had one course on Christian Ethics. The teacher made many points, and one that stuck with me was that of "searing" the conscience.
By repeatedly ignoring the work of the Spirit of God, within us, the "searing" seals all the juices in, and makes a person start to rot from putrification.... you become immune to His proddings...and wither...
I am a WASP, VietNam Vet, and think little of queers (not a homophobe, just despise their actions), but I do not accept as civilized behavior, the belittling of a man, who was just trying to live his life without hurting anyone else. I can only say to the name callers to look at their fruits.
Bile and hate will kill as surely as any drugs or alcohol or driving too fast or jumping in front of a train*. (Probably quicker, but I am not a scientist and do not play one on TV). Hemp does not kill. Guns do not kill.
Those WOD guys must know they are wrong. They just want to make themselves feel better about their miserable lives, I guess.
* These are all things that are personal choices!

One needs not be a bleeding heart liberal to put yourself in someone else's shoes for a moment. It might in fact be a Christian thing to do. Didn't Christ consort with beggars and prositutes?
