I wouldn't know. I just don't know enough about the insurance business operates.

They lived in an apartment; apartment renters cannot get homeowners' insurance, can they? Or is "renters insurance" just a form of homeowners'? When I lived in an apartment, I never had renters' insurance, never thought about getting it. But I have always otherwise had homeowners' insurance.
