When I lived in Manhattan and he was running for office (I think it was '98) he was campaigning at my subway stop (77th and Lex). As I walked down the stairway, there he was with extended arm and a smile waiting to shake my hand. I (a big guy wearing aviator sunglasses) slowly truned to him and said clearly and slowly: "NRA"
Boy, you should have seen him backpedal. I had a smile on my face the rest of the day.
