I'm a Southerner. I have trouble revering Lincoln; I happen to believe that the South had the right to secede, and Lincoln's "saving" the Union was the beginning of our current bloated Federal government- which is another argument on the side of lawyers ruining the country, since Lincoln was one.

It's entirely appropriate that you used the word 'believe' when you cite the Democratic Party's fictional history of America. You have to believe it, because you can never know it as truth.

The Democratic Party's fictional history of America?

Pray tell what part is false?

Tell me the New England states didn't think they had the RIGHT to secede in the early 1800s?

Tell me the founders didn't say that when a government became oppressive it was the right of the people to overthrow it?

You don't think that the Civil War was one of the milestones on the path to the overwhelmingly large Federal government we have today?
