I would venture to guess that the maid when she put the mop outside, put it moppy part up....so that it will dry. Men who don't typically mop, don't know these things.

You'd think there'd be a nail or something to hang it on, if it's a traditional mop. Actually, though, I think I heard that at least one of their mops was the sponge type.
Didn't they say that the bucket of dirty water was still there? Seems like they could test that...
