Russ update
Russ is continuing to progress. They wheeled the resperator out of his room yesterday. He has remained fever free. He is doing a good job at clearing his lungs. The stuff coming up out of his lungs is not green which means his pneumonia is really phased out. He is still conscious and having normal rest/sleep cycles. There is still no movement in his legs.
His next move will be to the 7th floor. I am nervous about this as the nurse to patient ratio on the trauma icu is 2 to 1. The ratio on the floor that he is going to is 4 to 1 during the daytime and 7 to 1 at night. Visiting hours expand to 12-8 and overnights allowed. I forsee us spending more time with him until we have a feel for the quality of care he is receiving. Depending on how this goes, we may be asking for help on watches in his room.
While he is on 7th floor he will be evaluated for his next big step by the rehab team. Once he is ready he will go to the rehab floor and that is where things will move fast. Russ is an athlete and I believe he will surpass everyone's expectations once he gets to this point.

Thank you for this positive update about Russ. I will be praying the Lord continues to guide and direct his healing and medical care. May He also refresh your spirit and your strength.
"Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; the rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion...O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!" Psalms 82:5-7; 12
