The Religion of Peace
TM strikes again.
Remember, Egypt is one of the more "moderate" Muslim countries.

I'm sorry but this reminds me of the Iron Curtain. When you need to force people to stay on the inside rather that keeping them of their own free will, that raises some serious questions.

Correct. Islamism is the new Communism. That's why all the usual suspects in the U.S. basically support it.
At its heart, it's the same old authoritarianism, that rears its hideous head in so many different places, in so many different ways.

The peaceful, gentle religion. We send them billions for this? We hold Ramadan feasts for them in the White House and investigate General Boyken for speaking out. The insanity keeps spreading.

And if I am not mistaken, one of the biggest recipients of our foreign aid.

While it is not technically illegal for Muslims to convert to Christianity in Egypt, converts are often sought out and arrested on other charges in an attempt to force them to return to Islam, I can think of no better way to make me switch back than by taking away my freedom and livelihood. < /sarcasm>

Yep, we should pull the plug on the dollars. There is no way we should be a coenabler of regimes with this kind of religious intolerance.

I had hoped to be the first to post a "Religion of Peace" alert but you beat me to it.
To: B Knotts
Let's change it to 'Religion of intolerance'. How do they get away with it?
To: B Knotts
Egypt was a
Christian country long before it was bloodily subjugated by Muslims in the seventh century. Up until maybe five centuries ago, it was majority Christian. It is still about 10% Christian.
The Coptic Church of Egypt is indigenous, therefore Egyptian Christians are the true Egyptians to my mind. So-called "Islam" is simply a violation of Egyptian culture and religion imposed from without by savage Arabs. Egyptian Christians and converts to Christianity deserve the support of the civilized world.
