Not so sure about that. There was the assassination of CIA agents near Langley, some substantial (and as yet unrefuted) evidence of Islamic complicity in the Murrow Federal Building bombing, The EgyptAir pilot that intentionally augered his plane into the ocean off the coast of the US, and a not so slight amount of evidence that TWA800 might have been a terrorist attack. There were also a great deal of Islamic terrorist activity against )US interests" off shore during that time period.
Boy, in hindsight, that one sure seemed like an attempted jihad mission. Pilot screamed allah akbar and then backed out. Wonder what building he was targeting. Of course, we'll never hear anything else about it.
