Well, I am broadcasting my wishes HERE and NOW, very publicly! If I am ever in such a situation, I do NOT want to be starved and dehydrated to death! It is NOT the same thing as being maintained artificially.

I am simply horrified by what our "system" is trying to do to this innocent woman....and all of it based on nothing but conveniently "remembered" hearsay testimony of a person with questionable motives (to say the least) and rapidly declining credibility and his family members that he got to vouch for him. I am thinking it is the judicial system we need to be pulling the "feeding tube" from, not Terri.

You know what? You pinned the thing in one sentence. I just spent too much time reading Felos' petition to the FSC from a couple of years ago, asking for a motion to stay Judge Quesada's order to replace Terri's tube. Felos is diabolically clever. He isn't interested in Terri Schindler, the human being. To him, PVS is just a convenient diagnosis to underpin his case, which is: Terri's "right-to-refuse" medical treatment (right-to-die) is being violated by the feeding tube. She would never want to "live like this" because Schiavo said so. This is the clear and convincing evidence needed to end a life? Hearsay testimony?

I read somewhere the strength of a people can be measured by how they treat the vulnerable and weak among them. If this court sanctioned murder of Terri Schindler really goes through, then what sort of people are we?

I did my own OPERATION INFORM THE RELATIVES yesterday. My aunt in South Dakota thought Terri was in a coma when I spoke to her LONG DISTANCE. I painted a clear picture for my aunt of Terri's real condition and that they're starving-dehydrating people every day, even people who say they're hungry!

What's so bad is that if an elderly person signs advanced directives, they might not be able to see or understand what they are signing. Simply being of sound mind does not mean that any one of us understands legalese. Little Old Ladies do not usually question authority i.e. their attorney or doctors. They weren't raised that way.

Suffice it to say, that my aunt was catching a flight to Long Beach, CA. I asked her to tell everyone in Long Beach and upon returning home that TERRI IS NOT IN A COMA. SHE IS DISABLED. IT IS MURDER.

Freepers, you can do OPERATION INFORM THE RELATIVES from your computer or telephone.
