Okay, I'm caught up now. I could see why you thought it may have been me in DC, I AM ever the jokester, just plain silly sometimes.
I've been thinking about this clothing thing...
Why would Snott say that Laci had on black pants and a white top? Well maybe he didn't notice? He is self centered, and some guys just don't notice. I would spend hours getting dolled up to go out and I would ask my hubby, "how do I look?" He would just say, "oh you look okay." Without even looking at me!
Then I was thinking maybe he lied on purpose. Maybe he figured that if Laci EVER did wash up, they would not immediatly think it was her because of the different clothing...give him a little more time to head to margaritaville???

Ya think SP is sitting in jail wanting a do-over on that one? As he hits himself in the forehead he can't say "Gosh, you're right it WAS a black top and light pants" (but last time I saw her she was upside-down)

True story about men not noticing: I have green eyes and I bought bright blue contacts and waited to see if hubby would notice. And waited and waited....after 6mos. I told him and he said "oh, yeah...wow...I didn't notice"

I think the clothing Scott described was meant to make people think she was NOT wearing what she wore the night before, because if he had given the actual clothing she was in, his story of Dec 24 does not pan. She would not have worn the same clothes two days in row, not someone who loved appearances and entertaining.

He probably wanted to say something bland that every woman would have, so that no one would either look for a specific unusual outfit and find it still in the closet, or say "She didn't have a [whatever] dress!" He figured every woman could have a couple of black pairs of pants, and more than one white shirt.

Possibly the question caught him off guard, or did I hear he talked/spoke briefly with Depplewolf or whatever her name was?

You're right about the husbands not knowing what the wives are wearing. I could see a husband being asked what his wife was wearing that morning and being unable to remember.

But a husband who cared and knew he didn't have a clue, would have said so. He wouldn't have made up a description of clothing which might throw the whole search off. He'd just be honest and tell the searchers and police, I honestly don't know what she was wearing this morning. A concerned husband would then have tried to go through her clothes, perhaps with the help of a female relative or friend, to figure out what was missing.
