The Chicago Tribune is a very respected newspaper in the Chicagoland area, and I know for a fact that the majority of the editors on the board are conservative/moderate Republicans.

I know that many people here disagree with the Tribune over the posting lawsuit, but the people who work for the Tribune are decent people. And that is hard to find in the world of journalism.

As a Chicago native, born about 6 blocks from Tribune Tower and currently residing in the NW burbs, I am well aware of how the Tribune is perceived. It WAS once considered a staunchly Republican publication. However, the editorial board has taken a sharp turn left over the past decade. The Sunday "Perspective" section regularly pushes a radical leftist view of world events.

How long has it been since you've actually read the Tribune. Can you actually name a single member of the Trib's editorial board who would qualify as a conservative? The only op-ed writer who comes close is Dennis byrne, and he is not a member of the board. Board chariman Wycliff is a left-leaning, milquetoast moderate at best.
