Commentary by Rush Limbaugh's Guest Host for Wednesday, October 29, 2003
EIB Radio - The Rush Limbaugh Show ^ | October 29, 2003 | Talk Show Guest - Mark Belling from Wisconsin

Listening to Rush's guest host today discuss with CA. Congressman Christopher Cox explain the bill that bans internet Taxation which expires on November 1st and is being held up for a vote in the Senate by 4 Senators 2) Democrats and 2) republicans.<

The democrat Senators who put the hold on the vote were from North Dakota and Washington (Conrad and Cantwell) and the Republican senator I remember was from Tennessee (not Frist, but the other one)...>

If this bill isn't reinstated by November 1, 2003, according to Rep. Cox, it opens the door for Taxation on any and all things related to internet usage. Would like to see discussion of THIS issue since it would directly affect Free Republic and all who enjoy the daily interaction!

Knowing how clever spammers are at concealing their identity, I wonder if the various governments will try to effectively "reverse" the tax charges and end up levying a tax on spam recipients. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did that.

If this can't be stopped and the moratorium renewed, the internet may cease to exist as we know it today. The average citizen could just simply be pushed out of the way. If this were to happen many things might be affected. Computer sales, for example. Certainly people who market products on the internet will be affected.

The other was George Voinabitch from Ohio...I'll be voting against him next year.

Agreed. This is like "stop Rush" on radio, they want to stop the common people from communicating. It already costs a great deal of money each month to own a computer, pay your phone connection/cable connection, and pay your internet provider.

The Silence is deafening. Why isn't there a ruckus in congress and in the press. Could it be a stealth tax increase?
