You know the old saying curiosity killed the cat? Well even though I am not a cat I had to find out the answer to your question Howlin.

Google search is great.

As you read the snippit you will see that Arnold wears several rings. The one in question I have put in blue print.

Arnold Schwarzenegger gives a thumbs up and shows off his lapis lazuli ring.
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

The gubernatorial candidate does not wear a pinkie ring -- that alone would suggest that he would be better suited for the craps table than the Legislature. But he is a man comfortable adorning himself with lapis and sapphire.

Schwarzenegger doesn't wear a traditional wedding band; instead, he wears a yellow gold and sapphire ring that was given to him by wife Maria Shriver on their wedding day. One might refer to its carat size as "significant" and its style as MGM Grand.

Complementing the sapphire is a large lapis lazuli ring, particularly prominent when Schwarzenegger is jabbing the air for emphasis the way that politicians do. According to his publicist, Jill Eisenstadt, it was given to him by a Navajo tribal member about a dozen years ago when Schwarzenegger was traveling on behalf of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

The silver skull ring was custom-designed for him as a gift from an unidentified friend. One likes to imagine that perhaps it was given to him by his buddy, former President George H.W. Bush -- a member of the Yale secret society Skull and Bones. Could Schwarzenegger be an honorary member?

Finally, Eisenstadt says there is one other substantial ring in Schwarzenegger's jewelry box. It is a limited-edition boxing championship ring from Muhammad Ali. Its various inscriptions read "three time world champion" and "the greatest." When one considers the elephantine size of a boxing championship belt, one can only assume that a ring would have the proportions of a minor moon.

Schwarzenegger man enough to flash jewely

Thanks, I see what you are talking about. That is a daymark or a range mark which the deep draft vessels use to line themselves up when they come down Richmond Channel. It is very shallow on the island side of that marker. It has a red triangle and is atop three or four telephone pole type supports, it is fixed and while it is an aid to navigation it is not a bouy. I have passed it scores of times.

That's great info, it was so small I didn't know of any way to tell w/o eyewitness knowledge.

Thanks so much!

Great find, Spunky! Now, I'll buy lapis lazula story, although that's a new stone/s to me. Question, though, is that still a horseshoe encirclement around the main stone? (I hung up on the horseshoe).

Captain PBear says that bouy #4 in one mile east of Alcatraz. As the Angel Island bouy is directly west it has a similar background.

Devil, I hadn't seen your posting where you thought Arnolds ring was a mood ring until now. If you didn't see my posting at #441 check it out.

Sandy asks:"Question, though, is that still a horseshoe encirclement around the main stone? (I hung up on the horseshoe)."

Sandy, I got out my magnifying glass and got a closer look. It appears to be silver all around only heavier on the sides than on the ends.

The jewelry in this link is not expensive, but since it was a gift from an Indian it probably means more to Arnold than value. It supposedly has healing powers though.

We were out today (yes it was cold) and I had Captain PBear point out bouy#4 to me. It's about two miles east of Alcatraz and above Yerba Buena Island. It's not on the chart I have posted. There are several #4's depending on the traffic lane, but I think this is the one in the picture.

Thanks, Spunky! It certainly sounds like an interesting piece of jewelry. I'm just used to assuming that those rich people all walk around with expensive jewelry!

Where'd I meet Gloria? It was right after 9/11. KABC radio was having a giant radiothon at a stadium parking lot to collect Red Cross $$ for the victims. She and Larry Elder and another guy were broadcasting live from the booth there, and we were in line to have Larry Elder autograph something. Just when we got up to the front of the line, President Bush started a live speech and they stopped the line and just paused everything while he spoke. It was a long speech, a hot day, and I was inches from the handsome Mr. Elder and the unusually penciled lips of Ms. Gloria the whole time.
