"His conservative base is quite solidly behind him."If you mean solidly against seeing a Communist DIM elected then I would agree, if you mean with his policies then you obviously have no idea what conservative values are.How about Anti-Big Government/Anti-Illegals/Anti-Gun control/Anti-(unbalanced free trade)/Anti-quotas, all of which Bush fails miserably at.
And if what I saw this morning "Bush says America is not ready for a stop to abortions", then he even fails on this Conservative issue. So please tell me what Conservative base are you talking about?
To: Dane
No. I mean 40% Tancredo (for example), 29% Dean and 31% Bush.

My hope at this point is that a good "True Conservative" 3rd party candidate pops up(and I don't mean Libertarian) For all its fecklessness, the LP has typically drawn several times more votes than any of the attempts in that direction. There just isn't a niche for that sort of "big government is bad, except that it should crack down on them weirdos" cafeteria conservatism.

The "so-called" conservative base that doesn't acknowledge Bush signing an historic partial birth abortion ban and a "so-called" conservative base that goes nuts over when a President doesn't foam at the mouth and say "Death to all Muslims".
That so-called conservative base is small but very noisy and are prone to shoving people away rather than reaching out.

>> Too bad all muslims don't feel as you, Mr. Turk.
Neither do many Americans, uh sorry, neither do many Christians... Nor many Jews....
>> he is inviting the wrong people to dinner.
I think it's a wonderful gesture and an important part of the war on terror.
>> Hopefully scrambled pork brains were served.
That's pretty disgusting, even for Boykin.

So please tell me what Conservative base are you talking about? This one:

So not only is Dubya doing better than his father, he's also more solidly with his conservative base than he was after being elected. Despite the handful of you malcontents loudly proclaiming on FR how he's losing his base.

Well color me wrong, you win, just keep doing that "Party at all costs" thingy and all we be well... Sleeeepppp Sheeepppp.

"America is a land of many faiths and we honor, and welcome and value the Muslim faith," ..........especially since it controls vast oil resrves we depend on.
After elevating Islam to such high level of government acceptance, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Postal Service requested the whole month of Ramadan to be declared a paid holiday for its employees. After all, seems like they're always closed for a paid legal holiday anyway.

Once you widdle away all the BS, Islam is Judaism with a belief in Jesus Christ the Messiah, who couldn't be killed and was elevated to heaven by God.
Do I need to hear why there's something wrong with that, or someone elses version? No, I already know all versions there are to know. I am just stating this fact for those who have no clue..
So anyway, what you are witnessing today is a fight between Kein and Abel. That's all there is to this sad story of ignoramusses.

Good for the President. I don't see anything wrong with this.

As far as I know you are correct. Please highlight which of those other White House traditions was implemented as direct result of members of those religions attacking and slaughtering innocent Americans?
To: JustAnAmerican
LOL! Of course you forgot the tax cuts, killing Kyoto and the International Court, appointing good conservative judges, signing the partial birth abortion ban, getting rid of the taliban, etc.etc.
You can keep whining that you do not have your perfect 110% candidate and just one other thing, you never will.
Maybe someday you will enter the real world.

I can't see a religion started by someone with a life like Mohammed had could have much good in it. A 6 year old child for a bride? And all the widows of the men he killed taken for "wives"? It's kind of hard to defend that.

And just how many enemies did we fight in WWII? What the h*ll is wrong with Americans today. Someone says fight for your future and some of us balk at fighting odds that are not overwhelmingly ours. No wonder we live in a socialist society.
