We all love and adore and support the Schindler family but I don't think they make very good spokespersons. If they could get someone like Joni Erickson-Tada (sp?) or someone like that to JOIN them, I think they would be more effective. Michael Schiavo's attorney (the devil himself) has been a very effective spokesperson, smoothe and polished, just like you'd expect from the devil himself (disguised as an "angel of light"). I think the Schindler's need better PR presence. That's all I'm saying. Not to be critical but just to be practical.

OH YES, Saundra!! Joni is SO articulate and a very effect spokesperson for disabled rights!! I would STRONGLY URGE THEM TO INVOLVE JONI!!!!

Here's a summary I typed up from the tape I made from Michael Reagan's interview of Attorney Patricia (Pamela?) Anderson last night. I may not have gotten everything exactly right but this is the gist of it and points covered, and can't take the time to polish it up right now:

1. In refutation of MS' statement that livein girlfriend cares more than Terri's mother. Mother bought stuffed animals and they were removed. Nobody has done more for Terri or cared for her more than her mother, Mary Schindler. Sees her almost every other day. All have put their lives on hold and come together as family . . . Mary took clothing down to the hospice. Hurtful, horrible thing to say re mistress cares more than own mother.

2. Money. Who is paying atty? Terri is the one paying for that attorney. That money has been taken away from Terri's medical fund. Half million "absolutely correct" out of Terri's medical fund has been paid to atty George Felos to make her dead. He entered pic in 1997. Terri was receiving rehab and therapy until 1991. When sued in 92 for $17 mil (awarded about $1.2 mil), that was used as the argument. He needed the money to bring her home and care for her for a normal lifespan. From that time, not one dime has been spent for therapy. After the money was allocated, not one cent was spent for rehab and $500,000 of the money has been spent on the lawyer to fight to pull the feeding tube.

3. PA: More disturbing about the judge, there are so many viable reasons while Michael should not be guardian. Living in open adultery, failure to file annual guardian reports and plans of action, obtaining guardianship in fraudulent manner (attorney's words, not mine).

4. Family receiving funding from rightwing groups. Right wing is n-word for people who stand in for life. MS should not have said that without research. Not true. Not funded by any organization. Receive donations from terrisfight.org. Coming in bits and pieces. $10, $20, etc. 160,000 signed online petition. Ton of people out there who have their eyes on this. MR: right wing groups are conspiracy to keep someone alive (in sarcastic mode).

5. PA honestly admits to being sort of emotionally involved. Says MS comes across as guy on a mission. ACLU on his team. Has effect on others. Ron Reagan cannot feed himself. Should they tell Nancy to quit feeding him? Disabilities organizations who are watching this are raising the bar on disabled people (MR: lowering it). GF says litmus is ability to raise spoon to own mouth.

6. Asked Christopher Reeve's organization about three or four times for help and he is too busy with other projects. "His plate rather full with his pursuits."

7. Joni Erickson Tada has come in on this. Not Dead Yet filed two or three amicus friends of the court briefs. It changes playing field or rules of what they are entitled to (disabled people).

8. Terri in remarkably good shape. Everything seems to be functioning properly and normally. Parents still not allowed to know medical details. Is "alert" (her words).
