Oct. 28, 2003 Sweet-toothed Italians had a lip-smacking treat tucking into the world's biggest chocolate weighing in at six tons.
Sculpted in the shape of a giant kiss and coated with a love message, the gargantuan chocolate took more than 1,000 hours to make, stood more than 6.5 feet high and has already found a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Italy's most famous chocolate-maker, la Perugina, prepared the record breaking sweet along the lines of the popular "baci perugini" nut-centered chocolates for Perugia's annual Eurochocolate fair.
The central Italian town has been holding its chocolate fair for the last 10 years. The latest has set out to promote 'true' chocolate, without additives other than cocoa butter.
The theme was chosen to take aim at European Union regulations adopted in August, allowing the merchandising, under the name of chocolate, of products with up to five percent of vegetable fat such as palm oil.

Money talks. Chocolate sings !!!If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly !!!
Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want !!!
Problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in hot car ??? . Solution: Eat it in the parking lot !!!
Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less !!!
A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy ???
If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer !!!
But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you ???
If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves !!!
If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other ???
Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger !!!
Q. Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous ???
A. Because no one wants to quit !!!
If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated !!!
Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get ONE thing done !!!
.

In 1996 I went from Rome to Florence (Roma a Firenze) on the high speed Pendolino train in 1st class and they gave you Baci chocolates for the journey. Very nice.

If Christie's got the chocolate and the pasta, and you've got the men, what's left for me? Just remember, I saw that big bacio first.

what's left for me?With 6 tons of chocolate and a country full of pasta, I'm sure there is enough for the three of us.
Jelly can keep the men, though!

I love chocolate....Swiss is my favorite.
To: christie; jellybean; carlo3b
I dunno...6 tons of chocolate may seem like a lot, but that's 2 tons apiece ( or 1 and half if we share with Carlo.)1.5 (3000 lbs.)divided by 365 days in a year = 8.2 lbs per day. Well, I guess that would be adequate.
Now the men are another story.
