Egypt FM: Israel is walking road to disaster
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher said Tuesday Israel was choosing the "road to disasters" over the route to peace by continuing construction of fence Israel says is needed to keep out Palestinian attackers.
The fence cuts into the West Bank and through Palestinian villages. Maher, speaking to reporters, also said the fence was being built to "capture more Palestinian territories" and would not contribute to the so-called "road map" peace plan endorsed by the European Union, Russia, the United Nations and the United States.
"Where is the road map? The road the Israeli government is taking is on a different map. It is not the road of peace and security, but a road to disasters, victims, anxiety and suffering," Maher said.
Maher also denounced the latest attacks in Baghdad, which included a car bombing Monday at the Baghdad offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
"There is no logic in attacking the Red Cross," he said.
"The Iraqi people should regain their sovereignty quickly, then things will be much quieter" Maher said.
The "road to disasters" is paved with stupidity. Building a fence to protect your innocent citizens from barbaric terrorists is not a stupid idea.
Here's my solution. Take Gaza, and rename it as East Egypt, then grant it to Egypt for $1 (one dollar - I know, steep). Simultaneously, take the West Bank, rename it as West Jordan or West Transjordan, then grant it to Jordan for $1.
Now it becomes Egypt and Jordans problem. Egypt won't give up any land, neither would Jordan. They'll absorb and relocate the palistinians, pronto, denying that they have any claim to the land. They'll help the Israelis build fences, to reinforce the borders with Egypt and Jordan. There won't be any cross-traveling between Gaza and the West Bank through Israel, so no future threat of terrorism by that.
Now I need to think up a solution about the Israeli arabs!
