I don't know about killing my TV, but starving it is looking better and better by the day. One trick is to get a 12" B&W TV for everyday use and keep the color one locked away or locked up for special occasions. You will soon be watching less.

Hmmmmmm...I was thinking about it the other day, and it dawned on me that if I "had to" (if I really had to, I could do without TV completely, of course) I could just watch Brit Hume, Fox News Sunday, Monk and the Justice League and Teen Titans. Not a lot, with six hours (Brit and FNS) of pure education, one hour (Monk) of one of the best shows I've ever seen, and the last hour and a half (Justice League and Teen Titans) being pure non-objectionable fun. In fact, that's what I mean when I say I couldn't bear to kill the TV, maybe just starve it-- No way I'm giving up Brit Hume or Justice League voluntarily! Add in a few extra bits like Mail Call, and I'd be seeing not much more than 12 hours even during football season. So much of the rest is either pure crap or is news I already heard on Rush, Charlie Sykes or FR anyway.
