PALESTINE, West Virginia (AP) -- An Iraqi lawyer who helped U.S. forces in the rescue of Jessica Lynch wrapped up a tour of the soldier's hometown Monday with a trip to a garden planted in his honor.

"I will not forget. It will stay with me, in my mind, in my heart," Mohammed al-Rehaief said as a ceremonial yellow mum was planted.

Sorry there Sherlock, You've made another factual error

Actually, shylock, it is you who have made numerous factual errors.

"And by the way, I didn't ping you to this thread, I only posted to those who had previously posted on this thread.

Anyone reading this please go back and see who was on this thread first and who pinged who first. Mr/Mrs Milemark is unfortunately factually incorrect for like the 50th time on one thread. Then you wonder why people don't want to waste their time with you."

It is an easily checkable fact that I did not ping you to this thread, and I only posted to those who had already posted in this thread. Check for yourself. Your first post in this thread was #31. Mine was #136.

As for no one wanting to reply to me, click on 'view replys' under some of my posts or just look at who the posts are addressed to and you'll see that I am swamped with more responses than I really want.

"the dude that saves your ass is the soldiers next to you who protect and keep each other safe by DOING THEIR JOB, like those who were killed (the real heroes) and are now gone.

Your post #139:"You're one of those weirdly obsessed "Jessica" fans who has this odd determination to convince us all that we shouldn't believe our lying eyes and that Jessica is really a brave hero who deserves to be a highly decorated millionaire, while the guy that most likely saved her pathetic ass rots in a grave and nobody even (including you) even knows his name." You were clearly refering to a specific person. When called out, you claimed to stop reading the post in which I challenged you before you got to the challenge. Now you change your story from a specific soldier who saved her and rots in a grave and no one knows his name to the more general all soldiers looking out for each other. There was no such specific soldier, you made him up to support your otherwise hollow attacks, and now you can only change your story or dodge the question.

"Unlike this pathetic excuse for a soldier who went into a hot zone with a filthy unserviceable weapon. She should be getting an Article 15 and have that weapon shoved up her a$$"

Most of her company's weapons failed that day, even the hero of the day, Pfc. Miller, Silver Star and all struggled with a jamming weapon when he took out the Iraqi mortar position. Do you want to give your Article 15 and weapon shoving to all of them as well? How about the commander of the 507th, Capt. Troy King, who blundered through the hot zone with his map and gps and managed to get lost anyway and get 11 of his soldiers killed?

I have yet to see anything factually correct from you and as for abuse, I have yet to see anything else but abuse from you, towards myself or anyone else.

"You all ought to be ashamed. You don't know the circumstances and you are so quick to judge."

Hey, cool your jets. You'll notice my post said IF she dissed the guy. That is not necessarily agreeing with the context of the article that she DID. I qualified my comment by using the conditional, which is more than I can say for your rush-to-judgment.

Have you ever seen a post by #3 Fan on this Forum about any serious military topic that does not involve Jessica Lynch? Why is it that he does not obssess about the commander who planned the first POW rescue since W.W. II or the servicemembers that actually carried out the mission?

Because it's not necessary. The reason that this is the only military subject I post on is because Lynch is the only military person viciously attacked here.

#3 Fan, you consider any suggestion that PfC. Lynch be treated no better and no worse than any other servicemember in the U.S. Armed Forces rather than as the media-hyped pop culture pin-up girl of the Iraq War as a "viscious attack".

Such pop culture treatment has already embittered the loved ones of her dead comrades, has Shoshonna Johnson's father playing the Race Card and seeking similar pop culture treatment of his daughter and does not do much for the morale of other U.S. servicemembers who are wounded and dying without the "Jessica!" hype.

Pfc. Lynch needs to be treated, not as a pin-up girl, but as a soldier. She should get the same media attention as any other servicemember that has served in Iraq and has had sh*t happen to them.

As for you, you need to get a real life girlfriend. Media pin-up girls aren't a good substitute.

No, I consider namecalling vicious attacks and the focus-on-the-negative as attacks. No other servicemember has his/her life put under the microscope by you Lynch bashers like she does.

If that's all it takes to set them off, then they have other problems. I'd hate to see how they would've handled Vietnam if they had to go through that.

Pfc. Lynch needs to be treated, not as a pin-up girl, but as a soldier. She should get the same media attention as any other servicemember that has served in Iraq and has had sh*t happen to them.

Not gonna happen. She was rescued in the first successful POW rescue operation since WW2. Some are remembered, some aren't. Those are the breaks. It happens in every facet of society including the military. You guys are going to have to learn to live with it because it will never end, there will always be some people that the public knows, and about 280,000,000 of us Americans that the public doesn't know.

As for you, you need to get a real life girlfriend. Media pin-up girls aren't a good substitute.

She's no pin-up girl for me nor even my type. I like lingerie and high heels, not combat boots. I prefer Buttercup over Zena. Other guys like tom-boys, that's fine with me.

In a perfect world, you would be right. Unfortunately we must live in the real world. Each soldier returning from the war will have a different level of attention. Some will get a mention in their hometown newspaper, some will not even get that. Some will have heavy media exposure, and not only Lynch. CWOs David Williams and Ronald Young, the Apache pilot and gunner who were taken POW were on 60 minutes 2 and on David Letterman's show. Shoshanna Johnson was on Jay Leno's show. The 5 507th POWs were on Dateline. To expect equal treatment for each is unrealistic. Some will have more public interest in them than others.

Of course there is a difference between "should" and "will". Different servicemembers will get different levels of attention and that is inevitable.

What is in question is the intesity of the media orgy and the media agenda.

There used to be a time in America, World War II for example, when the American news media actually took into account the harm that they could do to the American war effort. The Liberal media no longer thinks that way.

Now the media believes that it is noble to sow the utmost pessimism in the mind of the American Home Front so that America can cut and run as soon as possible. An American defeat, the Liberal media believes, will bring about "Peace" and "Peace" (any "Peace") is good for America, little children and all living things.

Now, the media believes that a media circus showering attention on "Jessica!" is good for ratings, ratings translate into money and making money is a more worthy cause than the morale of the rest of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Yes, the Liberal media will engage in their agendas.

However, we do not have to meekly accept their agendas, we do not have to participate in furthering their agendas and we can speak out against them.

I have no doubts about your view of the media, but I wonder if the fanfare around Lynch will have much negative impact on the home front or the morale of the Armed Forces. I'm thinking both have their BS meters handy by now. The soldiers actually in Iraq or returned recently who have seen the actual situation there have noted and commented on the contrast to what is portrayed in news coverage.

The negative impact on morale is not necessarily a result of the media attention given to Lynch as much as the almost complete lack of attention given to anyone else.

During World War II, certain individuals such as Audie Murphy, the Sullivan Brothers, the crew of the B-17 Memphis Belle, etc., were singled out for special hype. However, the news media also went out of it's way to give Average G.I. Joe his "attaboy" too. Ernie Pyle dedicated his life to such reporting.

Now, the Liberal news media makes it perfectly clear that they are not interested in publicizing any good that any average servicemember is doing in Iraq. In fact, the Liberal news media goes out of it's way to portray the work of these servicemembers in the worst possible light.

A case in point: There has been much talk the last few days of the "Day of Resistance" that the die-hard terrorists have been planning. When CNN reported on it yesterday, the news babe announced that, "The Iraqis were planning a Day of Resistance". Not the Baathists. Not the foreign jihadists. The "Iraqis".

The message the Liberal news media is sending to the Average G.I. Joe is: "If you're not blonde and cute we couldn't care less about you. The good work that you are doing will never be reported to the folks back home. In fact, you aren't doing any good at all because all you are doing is oppressing the "Iraqis" and all of the "Iraqis" want you dead."

Neither Tokyo Rose nor Axis Sally could have ever dreamed of undermining the morale of the American war effort in World War II as much as the American Liberal media does now.

It’s very possible that she just doesn’t want to see any more Iraqis – good or bad – for a while.
When I returned to the States after my last Viet Nam tour I didn’t really want to see any Vietnamese. I was uncomfortable even meeting a few Vietnamese friends at Ft. Eustis.
