Wellstone's Son Tries to Move Democratic Party

WASHINGTON — The green Paul Wellstone (search) bumper stickers can still be seen on Minnesota vehicles, a testament of the late senator's popularity, said his son David Wellstone (search).

"He touched a lot people's lives and I feel good about that," the younger Wellstone told Fox News.

It's been nearly a year since the plane crash that killed the two-term senator, his wife, daughter and several campaign workers. David Wellstone is now working to get the Democratic Party back on what he considers the right track.

David Wellstone has made it clear that he doesn't care for the party chairman, and thinks McAuliffe doesn't have what it takes to lead the Democratic Party.

"Terry McAuliffe had his day a long time ago, as far as I'm concerned. His opinion is his opinion. I don't have a whole lot of respect for him," Wellstone said.

Well, I think a lot of Democrats have to be thinking that. McAuliffe's track record with recent elections has been McAwful for Democrats. But let's hope the Dems will stand by their man Terry for at least another 15 or 20 years.

And then replace him with David Wellstone.

McAuliffe was plainly the one person most responsible for the Democrats' devastating defeat in 2002. Yet after maybe one day of muttering on electionday, the Democrats gave him a free pass and said that it was Gephardt's fault, or some such thing.

The very strange behavior of the Democrat politicians and their media pimps can only be explained by Hillary's FBI files.

Similarly, the dismal performance of the nine dwarves can only be explained by Hillary's influence. She has instructed her stooges that no one is to get any good publicity unless she says so. Notice that even David Wellstone has to use Fox News to get his message out.

All this tells me that she is almost certain to run for president in 2004, while she still has a firm grip on all the levers of power in the party.

The "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" and his venomous viper of a spouse have successfully retained control since they hijacked the Democrat party, and this brief insurrection from David Wellstone will have no more effect than the Andy Cuomo resistance. Amazing that the Juggernaut no longer needs wheels (they have long since come off), they must be running with a new mysterious anti-gravity device and sheer inertia.

Even if they DO go over the cliff, they will only drift slowly downward. No spectacular crash, they will slip into hyperspace and re-emerge practically unscathed, as amnesia grips a surprisingly large part of the electorate.

A most exasperating opponent. And one that somehow continues to retain the right and power to change the rules at whim.

Perhaps David can use "massive doses" of this?

This may move the Dims.

We really believe there has to be a rebuilding of progressive politics in this country

Considering that "progressive" is one of the euphemisms that commies use for themselves, I guess it's clear where this guy wants the Democrats to go. Seems most Democrats are on the same page with him.

"He touched a lot people's lives and I feel good about that,"

Leftists are always feeling "good about" so many things. Their utterances upon analysis are so meaningless and vapid that one cannot help but wonder how two misfits like Clinton and Clinton elevated themselves to the top of the compost heap.

These two marxist hillbillies can talk for hour on end, but trying to obtain one or two words other than "confused" is difficult.

"as amnesia grips a surprisingly large part of the electorate."

I think it's more like greed and envy grips a large part of the electorate. And the mass media keeps telling them they are right, along with academia and much of mainstream religion. No wonder they won't die, I guess.

I live in Minnesota and I can't say that I have seen a Wellstone bumper sticker in a full year. But I suppose if one devoted his life to finding them it would be possible.

I think the Democrats need something to improve their memory. I seem to recall that Fritz "I'm gonna raise your taxes" Mondale, icon of the left and annointed successor to Wellstone was soundly defeated in the last election. When my blue collar Democrat mother-in-law says she likes Coleman and Pawlenty and would vote for them again, the DFL party in Minnesota is toast.

I believe he was the guy. I don't have a lot of sympathy for a son who gleefully let Terry McAwful come to his father's "fun"eral and willingly turn it into a political rally.

I seem to recall Skip Humphrey (after coming in 3rd in the race for Gov) suggesting Minnesotans had somehow missed his message in the campaign.

In these parts, it is refered to as the "FUNERALLY"!
