When I answer the door, no matter what time it is, I expect there to be a person there waiting to speak to me, not hiding in the bushes to jump out at me after I see no-one there.

It looks to me like there is an alcove there between the garage and the front window, the front door is probably 6-10' back from the front window (Based on my experience with tract homes in Phoenix).

I have seen palm trees in Phoenix 10 feet wide. while that tree is obviously only about 4-5 feet wide, two people could hide behind it if they didn't expect the homeowner to leave the doorway.

It looks like the Friday news conference for which the Drewe's shyster had promise startling revelations was less than whelming.

The autopsy results have been released. It was reported on local TV tonight. It is without doubt that Mark was killed by a single gunshot wound to the back. The reason why there is nothing more publicized yet is because they are still determining the angle and distance from which Levin shot. This was not a self-defense shooting. This was not even close to a point-blank range shot. Levin came out, took steps into the clearing, set and fired. We soon will learn how far away Mark was when he was hit. We know he collapsed at least a good 40 yards away from Levin's property. This is documented. We will let due process take its course but your faith in the innocence of Levin will leave you disappointed.

Emergency room records show teen prankster shot in back

If the coroner's report bears this out then it looks like curtains for Mr. Levin. It's going to be hard to believe his story if he shot the kid in the back.

What a sad state of affairs. The one thing we know for sure is that before a man has been found guilty, masses are ready to string him up, have trashed his property and destroyed his mailbox. And admittedly the kids have been playing pranks and beside that someone has been scaring this homeowner by shooting out his windows. If you keep beating your dog over and over, and then come near the dog to pet it, dont think that dog will not cringe in fear. The bottom line is that no one wins here and many lives have been destroyed. These kids may not have been the ones who caused previous damage to the mans property, but they knocked on the wrong door at the wrong time. It's sad and the man deserves a trial before convicted. It's everyones right. Why not just bring in Jesse James and string him up? Are we heathens?
