I am also in Orange County (south county) and thought today's smoke was the worst. During the transition from Santa Ana winds to the onshore flow, the air became quite stagnant and didn't go anywhere.

We did get much more ash on Sunday, however, it just didn't smell or feel quite as smokey as today. My best friend and his family were evacuated from Claremont on Saturday night and stayed with us Sunday and Monday, and went back home to their house that survived by 100 yards.

I was in the Coachella Valley today, so I missed it all. However, the late afternoon, one could smell the smoke even down there as the winds shifted.
