I don't recall anything like this in Florida. I remember weeks of smog, and I still see the charred remains of trees along I-10, but it wasn't anyways near this bad.
Just ask the folks in Flagler, Volusia, and Brevard (where I live) counties.
Of course, it wasn't near the magnitude of the CA fires, but devastating nonetheless.
Homes, property wiped out. Lots of people hospitalized for respitory problems.
Firefighters/planes/helicopters from all of the US came in to help.
