Pets are being left behind

Sorry, I can't imagine doing that. If I have any warning at all, the cats are in the car with the kid. Anything else is replaceable.

Sometimes you have no choice. You are told your area is going to be safe, you leave your pets at home, and by the time you know it's trouble, your not allowed back.

My wife and I discussed it last night. We have evacuation routes planned, as well as plans of transporting our pets. It's irresponsible for anybody near the fires now, to not plan ahead. Gotta keep a full tank of gas, and an emergency kit ready to go.
