I don't know the history of fires in that area, but if there's fuel, there can be fire.
Many years ago I climbed little san gorgonio peak cross country - straight up the side and remember literally on my hands and knees under dense brush (fuel) in what I guess were animal runs.
yeah...rugged area and terrain...have hiked the area in times past. Now about the fuel situation on my side of the mountain. Over the last 5-10 years we have had small spot fires over a wide area. Nothing too big..put out in a matter of hours..but there are miles of dead trees...heavy brush...and lots of open area that has not burned in the 30 years I have lived here. And the small community directly up behind us..Oak Glen is good population with all the lovely orchards. Oak Glen is ummmm 5 miles due north of me. Have hiked up there just for a Sunday walk.
