per Geraldo:
"San Diego fire was one that was NOT arson"
Police now looking for:
White or gray van with 2 white males with long hair seen throwing items from the van...
of course this is not news to us, as nicmarlo's CHP postings showed this info yesterday..

It's especially wierd, because outside California, Nobody cares about Kobe or Peterson.

Make sure your aim is accurate. If you hit SE PA, the animals will start to walk in pairs!Hey, and to think I'm doing this for FREE. There are people out there who would CHARGE for it ;0)

The SB Fire department set backfires along SR 18 to keep the fire south of SR18 and away from Lake Arrowhead which are the large flames they are seeing now. They hope to burn back into the fire to keep it from jumping HW18. Right now on KTLA from their helicopter shot it is still working and they are moving strike teams into the Lake Arrowhead area in case of a wind shift. If the wind holds blowing south Lake Arrowhead and Blue Jay will be spared as they are for the most part keeping the fires south of HW18.
Been watching for over an hour and the fire hasn't gotten any closer to Rim of the World High School since they started the backfires. Also cannot get air drops into the area because of winds.
What is nearest to being taken out right now is Rim of the World High School.

I have Direct TV, have a couple locals for around here, can you get locals from other areas?Technically no, but if you have a "service address" that's outside the class B contour of your local stations, you can request (and get) Los Angeles and New York network affiliates (ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox). Once I "moved", I qualified (and got to keep my Atlanta locals).

Their priorities are so out of whack. I understand covering Kobe, and Peterson during dead news periods, but when something important happens, and they don't give it the coverage they give to tabloid cases, it makes me wanna scream.Along with their continual coverage of the DemocRAT Presidential candidates. Wanted to throw something at the TV this morning when they had so much fluff. The Cable channels are doing a disservice to every person who has family or friends in the California by their non-coverage and coverage of fluff! I have no respect for any of those morning programs left.

The SB County spokesman said they cannot get air drops into the mountains because of wind danger to the planes and pilots and is why they are getting no drops there -- said with the winds, the retardent/water would not hit the target.

I live far enough away from L.A. that I can't get them via air, but close enough that they're considered to be my home channels. Way back in the day, the Dishnet package included all the New York channels -- so I have both NYC and L.A. (and it's awesome).

The big push is going to be made at Simi today. They think the conditions are right for them to really put an aerial assault on that blaze. They are planning on using 12 different water droppers synchronized together to try to smother it out before it threatens the valley.
To: lainie
so I have both NYC and L.A. (and it's awesome).Interesting, you are very lucky. Just TOO much going on to not have maximum coverage!
Will stop using bandwidth for now unless I hear something important not yet posted here!

They're still in that still-wind phase between Santa Ana and onshore flow? is that it?
People are saying the Arrowhead situation doesn't look good but the pictures look like they've got a handle on it, to me.

What's the wind direction now? I'm in the Ocean Beach area and the pall of smoke is diminishing and I'm starting to see the sun.
