It's a blog I located from a teacher who works at the high school up in Rim Forest. Found it through one of the fire dept. sites, of all places.

Oh, and I forgot to add that Pasadena is northeast of LA, not northwest of LA.

Thank you. Very helpful.

To all my fellow FReeper friends in California, and even those leftist leaning folks, in the fire zone: Stay safe and God speed.
I know first hand the terror of wild fires. In '98 the fires in Florida were terrible. We had to evacuate. It was a "war zone" atmosphere.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Another request from an East Coaster -- I have relatives in the city of San Diego that I haven't been able to reach. I don't know the city so I can't be more specific about where -- a condo complex is all I know. Are the power/phone lines down there?
Praying for all of you!

LOL Are those the boys claiming to be hiking down from Bear Creek.
Or are they the refuse to evacuates.

The city of San Diego is a big place, unfortunately. Not all areas are without power or phones, though.
If they're in San Diego proper, they're probably safe... but if they're in one of the outlying communities, I could not say for certain without knowing the community name. I can tell you, though, that most of the coastal regions are intact.
