On shore winds kicking up bigtime. No more drops after the next 1/2 hour. Feds have planes in the area making drops but cannot fly after the next 30 minutes.

Stevenson Ranch area is burning -- the fire is making its own weather pattern now as the winds have really picked up inside the fire itself.

how many people live in Cuyamaca? 50? 1,000 ? any idea ?

160 full time residents, but it is a tourist area, so there are people who work in town to service them, as well as the businesses, hotels that catered to tourists.

Unfortunately, mud slides may take the homes that weren't destroyed by fire.

Oh my, didn't even think about that. Ugh.

I've fished Lake Cuyamaca. I know that whole area very well. This is a horrible thing. I remember the war that Julian staged years ago to keep McDonalds out. Mrs Glad's pie shop has a LOT of my money. If Julian goes, along with Cuyamaca, I am going to want to slap the first environmentalist I see.

KTTV= Snow Summit (Big Bear ski resort) has planned so well for this possibility/eventuality that they've cleared a lot of old dead growth, plus they can use their snowmaking equipment as firefighting equipment. bravo !!

Thanks to the enviro-nazis the trees on public land are untouchable. Now they're burned to ash....so how is this a benefit to the environment. They don't know and they don't care....as Feinswine said today.....she doesn't want the loggers to make any money! That's some priority with lives and property loss in the billions.

I have an ex-GF near Stevenson Ranch. If you see a gal on a Harley doing Evel-Knievel stunts, call an ambulance. Her name is Robin.
