Should I maybe try Salty on a little bit mixed with his dry, or let him have a bowl of egg/meat all together? I don't want to upset his already nuclear innards. (Salty's gas is so potent, Xena's Dad calls him the Methane Marauder.)

I would definitely do a gradual change. a little egg first, then some meat.

My experience is that any drastic change in diet to a pooch touchy stomach produces demonic results.

My dog Huckleberry was a pound rescue. When we got him going on this diet WHOA BOY!!!! He could gag a maggot with the results. It took about a month before we could let him in the house! No he's fine and looks great.
