ARNOLD's Promise not to raise taxes, except in time of disaster, is now being attacked.
ARNOLD raises taxes now hurts BUSH in 2004.

I am well aware of what is occuring.
In fact, we appear to be neighbors.
Davis looks to be in charge to the voter base.
We do not.
The GOP needs to be able to do both if we are to win back the state.

correct with both statements.
That is precisely why he needs to get out ahead of the Davis work to expand the scope of promises from State.
I repeat: FED needs to take charge of the situation.

"You need to start your own thread on that topic. I think most people, on this thread, are more worried about the fire than the politics of the 04 election right now. Just my 2 cents."
I agree totally, he needs to give it a rest, and take it to another post. There are those here whose families, homes, and livelihood are at jeaporady in these fires.

The last I heard Big Bear was being evacuated, so I'm assuming that the Old Fire has shifted slightly and is now headed up the mountain.I read this morning on one of the news websites (I think nbc4), that the Santa Anas were actually helping to keep the fire from engulfing the whole mountain because they were blowing it away and towards the FF. The article basically said that if the wind died down, they'd be in trouble because the whole mountain would catch on fire. I don't know where that article went, though.

I've been away from news all day....just came home from work...thought I'd find out what's going on.....post info here....I need to leave here in about 1 hr. 40 mins for awhile....this is very bad, that's all I can say.No, I wasn't pointing out that you could be posting old info, just that it keeps showing up on the CHP thing as new...which is odd... How many new fires could there be within 24 hours at Limonite and the 15? I saw it myself on the CHP site.

Here is the infrared image from yesterday, 1026,03, for comparison. (This image has been posted before)
Large HiRes JPG The 'hot spots' seem to be smaller and fewer, but the area burned has grown. The hires versions are detailed enough you can pick out lakes and mountains to figure out precisely where the fire lines have been.

"You idiots!" Thats great.. Thanks, we need that. I'm sorry for believing that having your house and everything in it burned to the ground transcends politics.

Clinton's grandstanding in Florida and other disaster zones got him RE-ELECTED. Disagree completely:
Running Dole got Clinton reelected
