That does seem to be indicative of the degree of damage to her brain. Other tests might include PET scanning, which would show the areas of her brain that are dead.

I am sceptical that with the degree of damage, that it can ever regrow. I certainly believe the Terri Schiavo personality is dead and gone, from the evidence of the CAT scan. Hopefully, she has found peace on the other side. The lawyers certainly don't want to give her peace.

Last year my husband had a stroke, and after doing the brain scan, the neurologist asked him, "When did you have your first stroke?" My husband (who was able to talk) said "I never had another stroke." "Yes you did," said the neurologist. He showed him the scan which showed that 1/4 of his brain was dead. We have no idea when he had it, because even with that much of his brain not functioning, he continued to hold down a responsible engineering job. The brain truly has miraculous recuperative abilities.
