Peg's Bottom Gazette Office Slides into Dairy Creek

Citizens of this rural Oregon community were dismayed to find that their newspaper wasn't on their porch in September.

This was because the entire plant, printing press and editorial section, slid into the east fork of Dairy Creek when Clyde Foofaw's prize bull saw his reflection in our front window and believing it was a rival for the affections of a holstein he was courting at the time, bellowed and charged the image....(snip)

I like Peg's Bottom Gazette a whole lot better than the Lake Woebegon tales. According to another one of their stories, Oliver North used to quote from them in 2001 on his radio show on Fridays. Peg's Bottom.

Just clicked through (I rarely do) -- it was worth it!

(And unlike many sites you have to click through to reach, it isn't larded up with graphics -- hard on us cheapskates still using dial-up.
