Are the Santa Anna winds seasonal? How long do they last? Pardon my dumbness.

Yes, typically they are seasonal. Ordinarily, the winds here blow from the ocean. These winds blow from east to west from the California deserts. They are hot, dry winds.

These offshore winds create fires and crisp, beautiful waves. ;-)
